Private visit « Following the footsteps of Folon in Monaco »


Jean-Michel Folon

Belgian artist Jean-Michel Folon, born in 1934, left his mark on the world’s collective imagination in the last third of the 20th century through his posters, illustrations, television shows and numerous exhibitions around the world.
Starting with press cartoons, Folon explored many techniques: silkscreen printing, engraving, photography, watercolour, stained glass, tapestry, mosaics, scenography, etc. He devoted the last fifteen years of his life to the creation of sculptures.
Through his humanistic and poetic view of our world, he leaves a fascinating work, focused on the fundamental values of man and his environment.

In situ discovery of some of the works of the artist who lived and worked for more than twenty years in the Principality. From the stained glass windows of the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel to the sculpture of the Place de la Visitation and the ceramics of the Chapelle des Carmes, the artist’s poetic works line the streets and squares of the Principality, followed by a visit of his studio.
